Adult Education Mobilities​

Gecko Programmes, in Birmingham and Wolverhampton, delivers training to people who already work or aim to be employed in the creative, cultural and services sectors.  

​Gain skills with a funded course abroad through Gecko Programmes! Upskill yourself to provide a better service for your employer and the chances of furthering your career. We provide courses in: Entrepreneurial Mindset and Leadership this year.

Gecko can fund through EU’s Erasmus+ Programme various one-week long Adult Education training courses this year in Spain: Barcelona, A Coruna, Valencia and Seville. 

Our next course will take place in Spain at the end of March 2022 and continue through till October 2022.

​What is not covered? 
  • Travel Insurance (it is mandatory that you purchase your own travel insurance) 
  • Visa fees 
  • Meals and refreshments (covered by the individual support grant) 

    How to submit a formal application:  
      
  • Your work in supporting adult learners, detailing role and responsibilities 
  • How you will share the learning acquired during the course  
  • A copy of your passport  
  • Supporting letter from your employer 
  • CV

    Places tend to fill in quick, so please express your interest early on by submitting an application form. Should you not be able to join the next cohort, we will get in touch for the following one.

The project is funded by the Key Action 1 of the Erasmus+ Programme and aims to send abroad learners for a week in Italy, Spain, Portugal and Germany.
Participants will be drawn from our own organisation and also from organisations with whom we engage to deliver our adult education service in the community, and this includes trainers as well as support workers. 
 
So what's expected from you? 
- Full attendance at all training sessions  
- Sharing your experience and participating in the training sessions 
- Completion of a short online report on your experience on return to the UK 
- Sharing of lessons learnt with colleagues, Gecko and partner organisations in the UK 
 
What's covered by the “Adult Ed” project?  
  • All flight costs  
  • Course fee worth EUR 490 
  • An Individual Support grant of up to EUR 1440 (some of which we will deduct for accommodation arrangements for the duration) 
 
Funded by the EU’s Erasmus+ Programme, the selected participants for this project will be supported with:
  • cost of travel to and from UK airport
  • flight
  • accommodation with utilities
  • subsistence money
  • certification

​We encourage all participants to add this work experience abroad to their CVs, and tell others the story of their participation, and their adventures; giving sparkle to a job interview​
